Tabitha Isner, Interim Executive Director

Rev. Tabitha Isner, MDiv / MPP, is serving as the Interim Executive Director of CSCA after the retirement of long-time Executive Director Cynthia Stinson. She is an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and adopted her son out of foster care in 2017. She has spent most of her professional career in the field of early care and education, helping states to adopt data-informed decision-making to improve their child care, Head Start, and PreK programs. She is a passionate advocate for Alabama children and families.

Ashley Cochran, Clinical Director

Ashley Cochran is our Clinical Director, meaning that she oversees all our social workers, ensuring that we use best practices in all we do. She is an LICSW, PIP. Ashley is a mother and enjoys working with children and families in the community. In her free time, you may find Ashley in a local library enjoying a great book.

Sabrina Underwood, Coordinator of Foster Parent Recruitment, Training and Licensing

Sabrina Moorer Underwood  LBSW,  is  the Coordinator of Training/ Licensing in the Therapeutic Foster Care program,  and has been employed with CSCA  since 1996.  Prior to her current position she has served as  Therapeutic Foster Care Family Consultant and Therapeutic Foster Care Program Supervisor. She believes that change occurs when children and families  are given the guidance they need to draw on their own strengths and realize their potential to live fulfilling lives.  In her leisure time, she enjoys singing and treasures  family time . She is an Alabama State University Alumni and proudly joins her colleagues in declaring that it is indeed “a great time to be a Hornet.”

Lee Underwood, Executive Secretary

Lee Underwood is administrative assistant to the CEO and administrative assistant for the Therapeutic Foster Care program. She has worked at CSCA since 2000.  What she loves about CSCA are the services provided to the most vulnerable children and their families.  Lee is very passionate about her family, loves to read, does crossword and jigsaw puzzles.

Doni Baskin, IIHS Family Specialist

Doni Baskin is a Family Specialist for the Intensive In-Home Supports (IIHS) program, which means his job is helping families to stay together, whenever possible. He has been a dedicated employee for CSCA since 2005. His favorite part of his job is meeting new people and traveling to new places. When not working, Doni enjoys going out with friends and watching television.

Latisha Lee, IIHS Family Specialist

Latisha Lee is a Family Specialist in the IIHS program, and has worked with CSCA since 2012. Her favorite part of the job is bonding with the children and families we serve and working with outside resources. When not working, Latisha enjoys spending time with her family and showcasing her photography skills.

Shamaya Smitherman, IIHS Family Specialist

Shamaya Smitherman graduated from the University of Montevallo in 2018 with a bachelors in Human Development and Family Studies, and immediately came to work at CSCA as a IIHS Family Specialist. Her favorite part of the job is being able to encourage, motivate, and provide other resources or skills to strengthen families that at first may seem to be dysfunctional or broken. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and her very spoiled dog Prince Ace, going to church and volunteering in the church nursery, reading, and drawing.

Jaleesa Brown, TFC Family Consultant

Jaleesa Albadani Brown currently serves as a Family Consultant for the Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC) program and has worked at CSCA since 2012. She is responsible for supporting both our foster parents and our foster children. She graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies. During her free time, Jaleesa enjoys spending time with her family/friends and reading.

Karen Wright-Thomas, TFC Family Consultant

Karen Wright-Thomas is a Family Consultant with the Therapeutic Foster Care Program, and has been with the agency since 2017. She enjoys the work that she does including providing the support that our families need in order to thrive.  In her spare time she enjoys reading a good book, shopping, traveling and spending time with her family.
